Punjab Revises Class 9 Curriculum for 2026–27 | Computer Science & Entrepreneurship Updated

The Punjab government has announced revisions to the school textbook curriculum for the academic year 2026–27, aiming to align education with modern learning needs.

According to an official notification issued by the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB), the majority of textbooks will remain unchanged. However, important updates have been approved for Class 9 textbooks, particularly in Computer Science and Entrepreneurship subjects.

The Computer Science syllabus for Grade 9 has been reviewed and updated to reflect current technological trends. In addition, the number of pages in the Class 9 Computer Science and Entrepreneurship (Technology) textbooks will be reduced to make the content more focused and student-friendly.

Following this decision, PCTB has instructed publishers to revise printing orders accordingly. Educational institutions across Punjab have also been directed to implement these changes without delay.

Officials stated that the primary objective of these revisions is to promote modern knowledge, encourage creative thinking, and ensure that students receive education aligned with contemporary academic and professional requirements.

Education experts have welcomed the move, calling it a positive step toward improving teaching standards. They expressed optimism that regularly updating the curriculum will help enhance learning outcomes and better prepare students for future challenges.
