The Punjab government has introduced a free emergency mobile phone charging facility in Lahore to assist citizens during critical situations. The initiative has been launched by the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) on the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

According to officials, the service offers multiple public safety features at a single point, including free mobile phone charging, a panic button, and access to CM Free Wi-Fi. The facility is designed to help people stay connected, especially during emergencies when a discharged phone can leave individuals stranded or unable to seek help.

A spokesperson for the Punjab Safe Cities Authority said the department plans to expand the initiative to 100 locations across Lahore as part of broader efforts to strengthen safety zones and improve access to emergency services.

So far, 30 charging stations have already been installed, and authorities report that citizens have begun actively using the facility. Officials added that the project reflects the government’s focus on upgrading public safety infrastructure and ensuring essential services remain available to the public at all times.
