The Punjab government has announced a major relief initiative for students by offering free e-bikes and laptops to 100,000 learners across the province. The program is aimed at promoting education, improving mobility, and empowering youth through better access to modern learning tools.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz made the announcement while addressing participants at the National Workshop Balochistan. She said the initiative is designed to support deserving and talented students who face difficulties in commuting to educational institutions or lack access to digital resources.

Highlighting the importance of youth in national development, the chief minister said students are the country’s greatest strength and must be provided with opportunities to succeed. She added that the distribution of e-bikes and laptops will be conducted strictly on merit through existing student welfare programs, including the Honahaar Scholarship scheme.

Maryam Nawaz also noted that Punjab’s educational institutions are open to students from all provinces, adding that a large number of learners from across Pakistan are currently enrolled in colleges and universities within the province.

In addition to education-focused initiatives, the chief minister outlined several ongoing welfare and development projects in Punjab. These include affordable housing schemes for low-income families, free home delivery of medicines, and expanded healthcare facilities, particularly for children with special needs.

She also highlighted improvements in public transport and infrastructure, including the operation of electric buses in Lahore, introduction of low-cost green bus services, and expansion of transport networks across the province.

Reaffirming her government’s commitment to merit, transparency, and public service, Maryam Nawaz said more youth-centered programs will be launched in the near future to further support students and young professionals in Punjab.
