Punjab’s Education Minister, Rana Sikandar Hayat, has issued a strict warning to private schools found operating during the ongoing winter vacation, emphasizing that violations of government orders will not be tolerated.

In an official statement, the minister said the Education Department will take action against any private institutions that remain open during the officially notified vacation period. He also added that the government may proceed against the Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of Education in districts where such violations are reported.

The warning follows widespread confusion on social media regarding potential changes to the winter vacation schedule. Earlier, Rana Sikandar Hayat clarified that the Punjab government will not extend the winter break and that all schools and colleges are set to reopen on January 12, 2026. He called the circulating claims of extended holidays false and misleading.

The minister urged parents, students, and teachers to rely solely on official announcements and avoid spreading unverified information regarding school and college schedules.
