The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has announced a scheduled power suspension across several areas of its jurisdiction on Thursday due to routine maintenance and development work.
According to an IESCO spokesperson, electricity supply will remain suspended during different time slots in parts of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, and GSO circles to facilitate necessary technical operations and system upgrades.
In the Islamabad and Rawalpindi City circles, multiple feeders will experience outages between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm, affecting residential and commercial localities including sectors, colonies, markets, and surrounding neighborhoods.
Areas under Rawalpindi Cantt Circle will also face power interruptions during the same period, impacting several key roads and residential zones. Meanwhile, in Attock Circle, outages are scheduled from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm in numerous urban and rural areas supplied by designated feeders.
Consumers in Chakwal Circle will experience power suspension in various towns and villages during the maintenance window, while Jhelum Circle areas will also remain without electricity for several hours as part of the planned shutdown.
Additionally, under the GSO Circle, different feeders will observe staggered outages between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, with some locations facing shorter shutdowns depending on the scope of work.
IESCO advised caution and urged residents to plan their activities accordingly. The utility company stated that such maintenance work is essential to improve system reliability and ensure uninterrupted power supply in the long term.
